.  This particular Maverick (serial #: 06007171) is a 2nd generation model (see photo) and reads and plays CDs, but
WILL NOT read or play single-layer SACDs or hybrid SACDs
.  Still an excellent, built-like-a-tank CD player with great sound.  No remote or manual or original box.  Player will be well-packaged for shipping.  NO RETURNS.
